19 days until I officially start training again for a spring 26.2. I am opting for a 24 week program again and running through the winter months. The 24 week program seemed to work for me last winter. I've gained a lot of knowledge over the last year technical, physical, and mental that I am going to use to help me with a new PB for my spring Marathon.
The only question is which venue this year. My Brother in law and some of our friends are thinking of going to do the Bayshore Marathon in Traverse City Michigan not too far away from here. It is a Boston qualifier and is supposed to be a very flat out and back course. My heart though is in Ottawa. I really like the course and really like going to Ottawa to visit. The Ottawa marathon is 2X the size of Bayshore with 3600 compared to 1700 and is the Canadian Marathon Championships... not that I get to see any of the elite runners anyhow. What to do?
I missed the Monday weigh in this week. I don't have a scale at home. I am going to have to rectify that if I am going to participate further. I will post as soon as I step on a scale. I feel lighter?
My wife got me a gift certificate from the Bike shop near here for my B-day. Looks like I'll be able to get some new rubber, a post, and a seat. I think if the weather is crummy out tomorrow I might bring it in. I haven't been out on it mainly because I've been busy and when I am not the weather is crappy. I noticed they have spin classes there I might just join in over the winter and get an jump on my biking. BTW I also need to find a nearby pool to see if I can still swim.
I haven't really decided on a TRI or Duathlon yet...anyone from the Windsor/Essex area have any ideas holler at me!
