I've got the need...

Yesterday I got out and hit the pavement. Was a nice day, the sun was out and if you were out of the wind it was quite warm. The Ipod was cranked up with Blink 182 and Garmin was ready to keep track of my speed and distance.

I was only out for 5km so I wasn't holding back too much. I took it easy at first until I got my blood pumping then about a mile into it I was running at what was a seemingly comfortable pace ...7:20 @ .98 miles hmmm looks like I had a need for speed. It surprised me, I thought I should be out of breath...then I walked for a bit? That psychological stuff always gets me. Over all my pace bounced between 6:50 to 7:30. Since I want to get faster and be faster I think that this was a good run mentally.

I was working on my stride. Really driving my knees forward...seems to work well cause my pace although quite quick for me seemed effortless when driving my knees forward and bringing my ankles up higher on the backside.

I'm going to get out today for a bit longer/slower run today seeing that the temps are going to be around 36 it'll be nice not to be so bundled up. Looking into the future I see a 40 degree day next week. Only problem is we are going to have to suffer through a few more 20-25 degree days before that.

I haven't been on your blog in a while. Way to go gettin' back to running. I've been on a little hiatus since Valentines. NEED to get back out there!
